Dr kandikattu has succeeded in relieving my pain. He was clear and consise in the expectations on how much he expects the pain management procedure would benefit me, and inhis pre-operational briefing. Both he and the hospital staff did everything to ensure the procedure was effective, and to render the whole experience as comfortable as possible.

Yesterday was my second visit to Boston West Hospital to see Dr Kandikattu for pain management. He explained the next procedure in depth, which eases the thought of having injections into the lower back area, and I now understand how this will be done. Continuing with exercise until injection day was explained in the management of this pain, and I feel I was treated in an honest and sympathetic way. He was a good listener to my concerns.

Dr Kandikattu is the only doctor who picked up the source of my pain after multiple visits to the GPs who thought I was just stressed.

Dr Kandikattu is one of the few pain medicine consultants in East Anglia to have gained certification in the Fellowship in Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP). He uses the biopsychosocial model of pain to offer modern assessment and management of his patients’ pain at the Peterborough City & Stamford Hospital, Fitzwilliam and Boston West and Clementine Churchill Hospitals.

Dr Kandikattu offers comprehensive pain management to people suffering from chronic pain from their head to their toes including: cancer, musculoskeletal and spinal (neck, chest, lower back, sciatica), neuropathic, complex regional pain syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic headaches and persistent post-surgical pain.
He performs a full range of pain interventions including epidurals, facet and sacroiliac joint injections, radiofrequency denervations, most of which are image-guided using x-ray or ultrasound guidance. He is also an expert in treating acute pain and inpatient pain management.
He offers outpatient appointments and inpatient care for pain management intervention at the Fitzwilliam and Boston West Hospitals. Patients struggling with chronic post-operative pain may need further pain management to relieve their discomfort and Dr Kandikattu can offer a back-up service for them too.
